Aston Villa request transfer conditions for Duran replacement already – Romano
Aston Villa have asked for the transfer “conditions” to acquire the services of Bayern Munich attacker Mathys Tel, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Italian journalist reported via his personal X account (30 January) that the Villans are yet another Premier League club who have contacted the Frenchman regarding a move in the winter window.
Tottenham are reportedly leading the way at the moment but thanks to Jhon Duran’s impending move to Saudi Arabia with Al Nassr, a deal for Tel to make the switch to Villa Park could now be on the cards.
“One more club has called today for Mathys Tel: Aston Villa have also asked for deal conditions,” Romano wrote.
“Jhon Durán leaves to join Al Nassr and Villa are in the market for new striker, with contact made for Tel as Fabrice Hawkins reports. There are currently 7 clubs involved.”
Mathys Tel would be an impressive transfer for Aston Villa
While Duran exiting Villa is no doubt going to sting Unai Emery and Villa’s fans for a while, it feels like it was a move that was waiting to happen.
There was an abundance of interest in the Colombia international during the summer transfer window and now that we’re entering the final days of the winter transfer window, it seems that clubs have finally found their chequebooks.
Tel is wanted by several top-flight teams, so acquiring his services will not be an easy feat for Villa to accomplish.

The attacker is still just 19-years-old and the fact he can play anywhere across the front three is just one of the many reasons why he’d be an ideal player for Villa to sign.
He’d fill the void left by Duran nicely and would also likely offer assistance on the right after both Jaden Philogene and Emi Buendia sealed their exits earlier in the window.
