Aston Villa make approach for Marco Asensio, he is ready for transfer

Aston Villa are in talks over a late move for Paris Saint-Germain star Marco Asensio, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The renowned Italian journalist reported on 30 January that the Villans are in negotiations over a transfer for the former Real Madrid ace.

It is stated that the Spaniard would be interested in making the move to Villa Park before 3 February.

Chelsea star Joao Felix is another option for the Midlands club after they made contact with the Blues earlier this week.

Unai Emery is desperate to bolster his ranks with an attacking midfielder, with Emi Buendia joining Bayer Leverkusen on loan.

The Villans are crying out for fresh impetus in the number ten role and Asensio would bring real quality to Villa’s ranks, with another striker likely wanted to replace Jhon Duran as well.

The 29-year-old has scored two goals and provided four assists in 16 matches for the Parisians this campaign.

Last season he notched five goals and seven assists in 31 appearances after overcoming fitness issues earlier in the campaign.

The former Madrid star can also operate out wide and as a centre-forward and could be a great asset for the Villans if Emery can get him back to his best form.

The Spaniard is looking to force his way back into the national team and a move to Villa Park could revive those chances if he can perform to his potential.

In other Aston Villa news, the club have been urged to pay one star “whatever he wants” by Martin Allen after a transfer approach was made.
