Aston Villa transfer round-up: Villa receive Watkins bid, loan deals on the cards

With the end of the winter transfer window edging closer, Unai Emery will be keen to tie up any incoming or outgoings at Aston Villa as soon as possible.

The Villans find themselves sitting eighth in the Premier League and still competing in the Champions League although there is no doubt that the squad have struggled with the increased number of games this term.

The boss will want to take his side back into European football come the end of the campaign in the hope of building on last season’s excellent campaign.

Here, Villa News rounds up all the Aston Villa transfer talk from across the past 24 hours.

Arsenal make bid for Ollie Watkins

Just hours ahead of Villa’s Champions League fixture against Celtic on Wednesday (29 January), Arsenal made a bid for striker Ollie Watkins.

Although the North London side are said to have offered a “stunning” bid for the striker, the West Midlands side have rejected this offer as they look to keep hold of their star man. [Sami Mokbel, 29 January].

An improved offer is expected to be made although Emery’s side feel they are in a good position to keep their striker heading into the remainder of the campaign.

Aston Villa submit official bid for Axel Disasi

Villa have sent an official bid to Chelsea in the hope of securing Axel Disasi’s services on loan for the remainder of the campaign [Fabrizio Romano, 29 January].

To secure the defender’s services, Emery’s side are willing to pay a loan fee and cover Disasi’s entire salary in the hopes of bringing him to Villa Park.

The decision now rests with his parent club who are said to be looking to offload players before the transfer deadline on 3 February.

Another Chelsea player on Aston Villa’s radar

As the boss looks towards the remainder of the campaign, it is another Chelsea man who is on his radar in Joao Felix amid fears of a Jhon Duran exit.

According to TEAMtalk (29 January), the forward is open to a move to Villa this term having made just 12 Premier League appearances throughout the campaign so far.

However, his parent club are keen on a permanent exit for Felix while the West Midlands side are looking at the possibility of a loan deal meaning something may have to give on either side in order to secure the move.
