Joao Felix ‘ready to join’ Aston Villa with Chelsea transfer update today
Joao Felix is said to be “very interested” in joining Aston Villa on loan with talks ongoing with Chelsea, according to TEAMtalk.
The news outlet reported on 29 January that Villa are “growing in confidence” that they will be able to conclude a deal to sign Felix on loan amid rumours of an exit for Jhon Duran.
Chelsea are yet to make a final decision on his future but are understood to want a permanent exit for Felix while Villa are offering a temporary move.
It is claimed that Felix’s desire to play under Unai Emery could prove to be the deciding factor with the Spaniard said to be a “big admirer”.
Aston Villa could make huge statement with Joao Felix arrival
Having already bolstered their attacking lineup with the signing of Donyell Malen, Villa don’t appear to be quite finished yet amid links to the Chelsea forward.
Should a deal materialise, it would be a massive coup for Emery and would undoubtedly provide a huge boost to Villa’s chances of Champions League qualification.
His ability to play just about anywhere across the front line would be invaluable and his proven quality would provide them with a significant injection of quality.

A deal will likely be hard to negotiate given his high wages and Chelsea’s reluctance to sanction a temporary exit but if no other offer arrives, that may swing the move in the favour of the Villans.
All eyes will be on the final few days of the window as the 3 February deadline rapidly approaches.
