‘Jamie Carragher gets it wrong’ in Jhon Duran transfer admission at Aston Villa
Jamie Carragher has urged Aston Villa to sell Jhon Duran but many fans will wholeheartedly disagree.
The Colombia international has been heavily linked with a move away from Villa Park throughout January with Al Nassr the latest side to show an interest [Santi Aouna].
This comes after a turbulent summer window where a move to West Ham was touted but ultimately never went through.
Given how much impact the 21-year-old has had this campaign, he should represent the future of the Villans but bizarrely, Carragher doesn’t see it that way.

If Unai Emery wants to get the best out of the former Chigaco Fire striker, it could take a toll on Ollie Watkins’ game time in B6.
With that being said, the former Liverpool defender believes Villa should sell Duran to allow the England international to flourish in the West Midlands.
Speaking on Sky Sports Premier League (26 January), he said: “I’d sell Jhon Duran. It probably goes against the grain of what most football clubs would do.
“Normally in that situation, you would sell the older one, Ollie Watkins, because you think this guy’s going to be here for a long time but I would try and get an extra £10m for him [Duran].
“I don’t think you’re quite getting the best out of Ollie Watkins, knowing that Duran is going to come on with 15, 20 minutes to go but he [Emery] has to bring him on every game because he is going to be unhappy.
“I just think sometimes you can have players who are almost too good in the same position, one player needs to know that they’re the man and that’s Ollie Watkins for me.”
It has to be said that there are some elements of logic from the pundit but ultimately it would be madness for the Villans to part ways with their star talent.
There aren’t many better striker prospects in the world right now and as a result, the Villans are better off letting him flourish than selling him so early in his career.
