Aston Villa ‘bombshell’ as shock transfer for Wolves ace on the cards
Aston Villa are eyeing a shock move for Wolves forward Matheus Cunha, according to the Daily Mail.
The newspaper reported in its print edition (25 January, pg 107) that Villa are now on a growing list of teams looking to strike a deal for the 25-year-old Brazilian.
The Mail said that Saudi Pro League club Al Nassr have interest in £80million-rated Jhon Duran and, should they cash in, a bombshell move for Cunha could be on the cards.
Nottingham Forest, Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham and Manchester United are also said to be monitoring the situation.
Aston Villa could raid Wolves for Matheus Cunha
This is a move that would certainly put the cat among the pigeons given there is absolute no love lost between these two Midlands rivals.
Cunha is a man in demand and it appears as though Wolves might be about to lose another of their high-profile stars, the question is quickly becoming “where will he go?” not “will he go?”.
Villa themselves have a bit of a dilemma on their hands with Unai Emery struggling to integrate both Ollie Watkins and Duran into his starting XI.

Consequently, Duran’s future at Villa Park has once again come into question and it may be the club opts to take what would be a monumental offer.
That would leave a void to be filled and maybe, just maybe Cunha has the versatility to be Duran’s replacement in B6.
