Aston Villa transfers: Oscar Mingueza game time twist emerges
Celta Vigo defender Oscar Mingueza is unlikely to start games for Aston Villa right away to avoid injury risk, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert claims that adapting to the Premier League is always a process and it could take him a few weeks to settle in.
This comes after Fabrizio Romano reported on 13 January that the Spain international is on Villa’s radar this month.
Speaking about this situation, Dr Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, told Villa News: “My advice to Villa after Mingueza’s small hamstring issue earlier in the season would be to bring him along gradually and methodically.
“Adapting to the Premier League is always a process, whether that’s on the pitch to its fitness and physical demands or off the pitch to a new environment, city and teammates.
“It’s possible he doesn’t start games right away as it might take him a few weeks to settle in.“
Oscar Mingueza would be a quality signing for Aston Villa
Villa are targeting defenders in January and signing the 25-year-old would make a lot of sense for them.
Not only is he capable of playing at right-back and centre-back, but he’s also at an age where he could be a first-team regular for the better part of the next decade.

These things will surely be factored in before Villa make a final decision whether or not to sign him.
