Stan Collymore deletes post about Mikel Arteta after Arsenal v Aston Villa
Stan Collymore deleted a post about Mikel Arteta after the 2-2 draw between Arsenal and Aston Villa on Saturday.
Arteta admitted that “something is missing” at Arsenal after they let a two-goal slip at home against Unai Emery’s side on 18 January [Sky Sports].
Reacting to those comments on X, Collymore instantly hit out at the Spanish tactician by saying that it is humility that the North London giants are missing.
“Yes, it’s called humility”, the former Villa striker wrote via his personal X account (18 January).
However, he took down the said tweet just minutes after posting it.
Unai Emery and Aston Villa boost Champions League hopes with draw v Arsenal
Taking a point from the Emirates Stadium is not an easy task by any means as Arsenal had won seven and drawn three of their 10 Premier League games at home this season prior to Saturday.
Furthermore, Emery and Co can take pride in the fact that they came from two goals behind to hold the title challengers to a draw, courtesy of two goals from Youri Tielemans and Ollie Watkins in the space of eight minutes.
Nevertheless, the draw in North London will be a huge boost to Aston Villa’s hopes of finishing in the top four this season as they are now placed seventh in the table, sitting just two points behind fourth-placed Newcastle.

It is unclear why Collymore decided to delete his tweet despite initially deciding to take aim at Arteta for his comments.
The internet is such that one can never permanently erase something once they have published it for the world to see and that is the case here.
