Jaden Philogene ‘unhappy at Aston Villa’ as medical news drops
Jaden Philogene is close to finalising his move from Aston Villa to Ipswich Town.
As reported by Dharmesh Sheth via X (10 January), the winger has passed a medical at Ipswich Town with all parties confident that a move will be finalised soon.
Philogene has started just two Premier League matches since returning to Villa in the summer and it looks as though Unai Emery’s side are ready to cut ties, which makes the deal to bring him back look all the more ridiculous.
And ex-Villa scout Bryan King – speaking exclusively to Villa News – has shared some information about Philogene’s mood behind the scenes at Villa Park in recent months.
“He obviously hasn’t settled into Birmingham and life at Villa,” King said.
“This is another player who hasn’t fulfilled the expectations that supporters had when he arrived. There are talks of him being unhappy at the club, with him saying that he should be playing more.
“Those are the things you don’t really want around your football club. If a mistake has been made, then moving the player on is the right thing to do.”
Jaden Philogene to quit Aston Villa and join Ipswich Town
Philogene would have no doubt had higher hopes ahead of his return to Villa.
However, things haven’t gone to plan. Therefore, it makes sense for the 22-year-old to move on, and Philogene will be happy to have secured a move within the Premier League.

And with the Tractor Boys just a matter of points behind Everton and Wolves, the forward will hope he can act as the spark to keep the club in England’s top flight.
In other Aston Villa news, the club are ready to trigger the release clause of one La Liga player.
