Aston Villa transfer ‘bombshell’: Goalkeeper exit talks begin with former club
Aston Villa have opened talks with Copenhagen over a deal for Robin Olsen, according to Tipsbladet.
The Danish outlet reported the “bombshell” transfer update on 8 January as the Lions go in search of a new first-choice goalkeeper.
The Superligaen side are in dialogue with the Villans to resign the Sweden international who left in 2018 and only has six months remaining on his contract in B6.
Copenhagen have decided to bring the 35-year-old back to Denmark and are hoping to reach a conclusion in negotiations with Villa soon.

There is little surprise to see that the shot-stopper has been linked heavily with a winter move away from Villa Park given his lack of game time this season.
In campaigns gone by Unai Emery has trusted the Swede to be the number two to Emi Martinez for cup competitions and in case of injury and suspension.
This saw the former Everton keeper start the home leg of the Conference League semi-final in a hugely disappointing night at Villa Park.
That almost sums up Olsen’s spell in the Midlands, given the lack of trust that the majority of supporters have had in him between the sticks.
It would make sense for all parties to see the ex-Sheffield United man move on especially if he can become a regular starter elsewhere.
From a financial perspective, even if there is no fee involved, getting the goalkeeper’s wages off the books could represent a boost for Monchi and Co. when dealing with PSR.
