Louie Barry could be sold by Aston Villa during the January transfer window.

As reported by The Telegraph (1 January), Unai Emery's side "intend to sell" the striker to a Championship club.

Barry will return to Villa Park this month after he was recalled from his loan spell with Stockport County, a decision which saw Villa take a shot at local rivals Birmingham City in the process.

However, instead of loaning him out as expected, with a move to the Blues mooted, it appears as though Barry will instead be sold.

And ex-Villa scout Bryan King - speaking exclusively to Villa News - has speculated what kind of money the 21-year-old might be worth.

"They'd be looking for a fee of around £7million," King said.

"That could rise based on appearances and other performance-related factors. Barry will have very limited opportunities at the club when he does return.

"Therefore, Villa might be looking to cash in, and now would be the time to sell him. I'd imagine it will be one of those deals where there would first be an initial payment, and then if things go well there could be a further payment, which could take the fee up to £10million."

Aston Villa to sell Louie Barry in January?

Barry has shone on loan at Stockport County, scoring 15 goals and providing two assists in 23 League One outings.

Therefore, many might have expected that Villa would loan the forward out, rather than let him go permanently. While there might not be any space in the team for him now, there is every chance that Barry might be needed in the future, especially if Ollie Watkins or Jhon Duran move on.

As a result, if Villa do decide to sell Barry, they will have to hope they don't live to regret that decision.
