Aston Villa v Leicester City postponement latest after Met Office update
Aston Villa and Leicester City don’t appear to be under threat of their clash being postponed amid the latest update from the Met Office.
Yellow weather warnings have been forecast [Met Office, 2 January]ahead of the clash at Villa Park on Saturday (4 January) with heavy snow, and some freezing rain possible across the UK.
There is little reason to assume that the B6 clash against the Foxes will be called off with snow not predicted until 6:00 pm.
Temperatures look set to only reach two degrees Celsius at the warmest point of the day but with the undersoil heating available at Villa Park, this is unlikely to affect the playing surface.

The Villans will be hoping that their clash against Ruud van Nistelrooy’s side will go ahead with a view to getting back to winning ways.
The draw against Brighton on Monday (30 December) was frustrating, especially after Morgan Rogers put the Villans ahead early in the second half.
This came after the Boxing Day defeat against Newcastle United (26 November) which has left Unai Emery’s side with just one Premier League win in their last four games.
As a result, a home clash against the relegation-threatened Foxes could prove to be the perfect chance to secure three points.
The newly promoted side have won just one in their last 12 games in all competitions, scoring just one in their last four matches.
Given that the Villans have conceded 15 goals in eight games, there is every chance that the away side can get on the scoresheet.
The conditions could affect both sides in many ways but that is only if the game goes ahead, which it looks likely to do as things stand.
