Duran needs to ignore what Collymore has said about Aston Villa confrontation
Jhon Duran needs to ignore Stan Collymore’s advice and trust Unai Emery’s Aston Villa vision.
The Colombia international came off the bench to score once again on Tuesday (10 December) in the 3-2 win against RB Leipzig.
This made it two goals in two games for the 20-year-old after netting against Southampton in his first Premier League start of the campaign.
His performances have prompted many supporters to question why the striker isn’t starting ahead of Ollie Watkins.
Regardless of these questions, Duran needs to ignore the noise and continue to work with Emery to play at his best level.

The ex-Chicago Fire starlet is still young and finding his feet in senior football so there is no need to rush him into starting every week.
His inexperience could end up costing his side at some point but for now, his attacking impact as a substitute is a useful weapon.
Despite this, former Villa striker Collymore has urged the striker to demand a start from his manager in his column with CaughtOffside on 12 December.
He said: “Jhon Duran will be knocking on Unai Emery’s door again after a fabulous performance from the Aston Villa sub. How long is it before he starts to get a little bit vocal in his need to start games?
“Ollie Watkins could do with a little bit of a break from time to time, and the manager knows that when Duran comes on he invariably scores.”

Knocking on Emery’s door wouldn’t be a wise move and it would arguably be a better move to wait his turn and his chance will come from the Spaniard eventually.
Causing unrest in the changing room at Villa Park isn’t the right way to do things and would show his immaturity which his manager certainly wouldn’t appreciate.
