Sil Swinkels Wycombe loan deal mooted amid Aston Villa contract development

Sil Swinkels will leave Aston Villa on loan in January after signing his new contract with Wycombe a potential destination, according to Dan Bardell.

The Dutchman signed a new deal at Villa Park on 29 November after making his debut for the first-team proper in the League Cup this season.

After making just one appearance for the Villans this campaign, the 20-year-old could be set for a temporary move away to earn some first-team experience.

This sentiment was echoed by Sky Sports and talkSPORT journalist Bardell who has mooted a League One loan for the centre back.

Speaking exclusively to Villa News, Bardell said: “I think he’ll definitely go out on loan, I’ve seen that Wycombe might look to get him in.

He’s highly rated in the camp and was kept around the squad because of Mings coming back from injury. He was on the bench in the Premier League and started in the cup but wasn’t ever going to start in the league.

He’s signed a new deal and you’ll see him get a League One level loan in January.

It’s a positive to see him commit his future to the club.

Sil Swinkels to leave Aston Villa on loan

The Villans appear to have a young defender who they are keen to get the best out of and could prove to be a long-term heir to the Pau Torres role.

As a left-footed centre-back, Swinkels represents a positive asset who would certainly benefit from regular first-team football on loan for the rest of the season.

A spell with a side like Wycombe who are flying high in League One could get the best out of the Dutchman before a return to Villa Park in the summer.
