Aston Villa star turns into Bergkamp in win v Brentford – Martin Keown
Martin Keown has been wowed by Morgan Rogers after “Bergkamp style” footage emerged on Match of the Day after Aston Villa beat Brentford.
The Villans secured three points at Villa Park on Wednesday (4 December) thanks to goals from Ollie Watkins, Matty Cash and the England international.
The latter’s curling effort picked out the top corner and a driving run forward from inside his own half which impressed Keown on Match of the Day.
He said: “Morgan Rogers has been in quite magnificent form, he just keeps producing. He likes to play off the front, he comes deep in a Bergkamp style run, he starts high and comes deep.”

The 22-year-old had hit a rough patch of form in claret and blue after what was such a positive start to the campaign which caught the eye of every Premier League fan.
He looked to be back to his best against Brentford as he opened the scoring with just 21 minutes on the clock in B6.
This was the cherry on the icing on the cake for the attacking midfielder who looked dangerous throughout the clash against the Bees.
There is hope that moving forward the ex-Manchester City man can be more clinical in front of goal and he showed that with an excellent effort at Villa Park.

This came despite him having two other strikes on goal with one flying high and wide while the other was blocked.
Rogers has so much quality with the ball at his feet, if he can score goals on a regular basis he will become arguably the Villans’ most important player.
