Rory Wilson could exit Aston Villa within weeks, European clubs want deal
Aston Villa could lose young star Rory Wilson with European clubs trying to secure a deal in January, according to The Athletic.
The 18-year-old is out of contract in the summer and has dismissed several offers of a five-year deal from the club, as per the report.
The Villans are not willing to meet the player’s salary demands, which are reportedly more than double the current best-paid academy contract and more than the original contracts of some first-team stars.
Aston Villa could still keep Wilson
With both parties reportedly so far apart in negotiations, it makes sense for Wilson to leave the club especially with five-figure offers from overseas but a U-turn could still be possible.
Villa News reported in October that the Scottish youngster was understood to have been forced to train alone.
However, it is understood that Wilson’s camp are hopeful of resolving this in January despite being unhappy with what they deem to be “coercive” behaviour towards the teenager so far this season.

The Scot could pave his way into the Unai Emery’s team as third-choice striker behind Ollie Watkins and Jhon Duran and could see action if either of them get injured or Duran leaves for a top European club.
Villa will get no fee if they fail to agree a new deal with the youngster, with the player able to agree on a pre-contract deal with a European team from 1 January, although they will get compensation, it will be a minimal amount.
With the club competing for European places, currently playing in the Champions League, most young players would be thrilled to take on the challenge to rise through the ranks and compete for a place in the starting XI.
In other Aston Villa news, one Villa star could be dropped for the Chelsea game at the weekend.
