Aston Villa to recall Louie Barry in January amid Tottenham transfer speculation
Bryan King thinks Aston Villa could recall Louie Barry from his loan with Stockport County in January.
The ex-Villa scout thinks transfer interest in the 21-year-old might change Villa’s stance on the player.
As reported in Spain [17 November], Leicester City and Tottenham are both interested in Aston Villa striker Barry, which leaves Unai Emery’s side with a decision to make.
And King – speaking exclusively to Villa News – thinks the decision will be to bring Barry back to the West Midlands.
“He’s learning his trade, that is for sure, and there are no better divisions to learn your trade than in the lower English leagues,” King said.
“It is a tricky one, but obviously Spurs’ interest is going to perhaps change Villa’s stance.
“Perhaps Villa will be thinking about bringing Barry back, January isn’t too far away.”
Aston Villa to recall Louie Barry from Stockport County loan in January?
Barry’s impressive form at Stockport County will no doubt have caught Emery’s eye.
The youngster has scored 11 goals in 16 matches in League One this season. Therefore, it is clear to see that the forward has plenty of potential.
However, Emery must decide if there is room for Barry at Villa Park. With Ollie Watkins and Jhon Duran both at the club, minutes might be hard to come by.
Therefore, Emery might not be too fussed to see Barry sold to Tottenham or Leicester.

However, if the Villa boss does want to keep hold of the player, then he needs to start proving to him that he has a future at Villa Park.
