Morgan Rogers contract clause speculated at Aston Villa after brand-new development
Bryan King expects that Morgan Rogers’ salary will rise each season as part of a clause in his new Aston Villa contract.
The ex-Villa scout believes this clause will eventually see the 22-year-old become the highest earner at the club.
It was announced via Aston Villa’s official website on Tuesday (19 November) that Rogers has signed a new contract which will keep him at Villa Park until 2030.
And King – speaking exclusively to Villa News – has shed some insight on the potential finances involved in the deal.
“I’d imagine his salary will have increased in all areas, across the six years of the contract,” King said.
“There is obviously going to be a salary rise each season he is playing with Villa in the Premier League. I’m certain that there will be a clause in the contract which will see his wages rise year-by-year.
“As a result, over time I’m sure his wages will move above the top earners at the club.”
Morgan Rogers’ salary to increase year-by-year at Aston Villa?
Rogers has been one of Unai Emery’s key players this season. Therefore, it is no surprise to see that he has signed a new contract which King believes will have included a substantial pay rise.
While Rogers might not yet be deserving of the title of Villa’s highest earner, considering his age and lack of experience compared to some of his teammates, it only looks as though he will continue to improve.
As a result, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Villa include a clause which will see Rogers’ salary gradually rise in line with his influence as a Villa player.

And if they have done this, it can be viewed as a very smart bit of business, and a creative way to keep the player satisfied without breaking the bank immediately.
