Ollie Watkins sends three-word message as Aston Villa finalise new deal

Ollie Watkins has taken to Instagram to congratulate Morgan Rogers after Aston Villa announced his new contract on Tuesday.

The 22-year-old has extended his deal with the club to remain at Villa Park until 2030.

After Rogers took to Instagram to say “home is where the heart is”, Watkins responded to his fellow Villan commenting on the post: “Well deserved bro.”

The attacking midfielder initially signed for Villa earlier this year joining from Middlesbrough, but an impressive run of form, which included his England debut against Greece last week, has led to Aston Villa to secure his services for another six years.

Rogers ready to impress for Aston Villa

Since making his Villa debut in February, Rogers has impressed in claret and blue and already has three goals and three assists under his belt this season.

It’s therefore no surprise that Aston Villa’s prolific frontman Watkins is pleased to see his side secure the youngsters’ services for years to come.

The 28-year-old has made no secret of his appreciation for his young teammate as he told Match of the Day (via Birmingham Live) earlier this season that Rogers “has got the world at his feet”. He added: “He always wants to work and has the ability to take people on. I am not going to big him up too much as I don’t want his head getting too big, but he’s got it all.”
