Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall could benefit from Aston Villa transfer with negotiations underway

Bryan King has suggested that Chelsea midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall could benefit from joining Aston Villa.

The ex-Villa scout, however, doesn’t think a transfer will materialise.

As reported by Fichajes (10 November), Dewsbury-Hall is not in Chelsea’s long-term plans, with Aston Villa “negotiating a loan with an option to buy.”

However, while Chelsea are willing to accept that form of transfer, they reportedly want to set the buy option at £30million. Meanwhile, Villa’s current proposal includes a buy-option which is only worth £18.2million.

And King – speaking exclusively to Villa News – doesn’t think Dewsbury-Hall is worth the money Chelsea are asking for.

“Dewsbury-Hall could perhaps benefit from a move to Villa and change of scenery,” King said.

“However, I look at this type of player and I question why Chelsea signed him. He isn’t a £30million game-changer for me.

“I do think he is a decent footballer. However, I just can’t see that transfer materialising.”

Aston Villa to sign Chelsea midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall?

Dewsbury-Hall hasn’t made the start to life at Stamford Bridge which he would have liked. After being such a key player under Enzo Maresca at Leicester City, the 26-year-old probably thought he would benefit from following the manager to Chelsea.

However, things haven’t worked out that way so far, with Dewsbury-Hall playing just three times in the Premier League this season.

Therefore, it is no surprise that Unai Emery has taken notice of this situation, especially with the future of Youri Tielemans up in the air after his recent comments (via Foot News, 3 November).

However, £30million is a lot to pay, and this could perhaps prevent any potential transfer move from happening.

In other Aston Villa news, the club could sign a “remarkable” 20-year-old.
