Monchi has January transfer problem after what Leon Bailey did in Aston Villa loss v Liverpool
Monchi has his work cut out for him in January after Leon Bailey flopped for Aston Villa against Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday.
Starting on the right side of the attack, Bailey had an ineffective 65 minutes on the pitch before being replaced by Jaden Philogene as Villa lost 2-0 to the Reds in the Premier League on 9 November.
The 27-year-old has failed to impress on multiple occasions this season and the performance at Anfield highlighted the need for the club to sign a new winger in January.

Bailey was pitted against Andy Robertson on the right-hand side and considering the Scot has been far from his best for Liverpool, one would have expected the attacker to have some joy.
However, the Jamaica international was on the periphery, registering just 23 touches (Sofascore). Only Ollie Watkins had fewer among Villa players who started.
He also completed just 11 of his 15 passes (73 per cent accuracy) and only five of them were played forward, as per FotMob.
Bailey, who completed the only dribble he attempted in the game, lost all but one of his four duels and lost possession eight times, which is disappointing as his involvement was little anyway.
He did not do much to help right-back Ezri Konsa in defence as well. Indeed, he won just one out of his four ground duels for a disappointing 25 per cent success rate.

Aston Villa bagged £50million for Moussa Diaby’s sale to Al-Ittihad in the summer (The Guardian) but might be regretting not bringing in another threatening winger now.
Bailey has provided just three assists from 15 appearances across all competitions this term, with none of them contributing to winning causes.
This is why it is important Monchi strikes a deal for a new attacker in January.
