Tyrone Mings prediction emerges ahead of Liverpool v Aston Villa after ‘funny’ incident
Bryan King expects Unai Emery to leave Tyrone Mings out when Aston Villa take on Liverpool in the Premier League on Saturday.
The ex-Villa scout doesn’t think the defender is ready for a match as big as the one against the Reds.
Mings gave away a “crazy” penalty as Villa were beaten 1-0 in the UEFA Champions League by Club Brugge at the Jan Breydel Stadium on Wednesday (6 November).
As a result, Emery’s side will be looking to avoid a fourth consecutive defeat against Arne Slot’s Liverpool at Anfield (9 November), with the Villa boss expected to make four changes.
And King – speaking exclusively to Villa News – believes confidence will be low among the squad at the moment.
“It was a funny incident with Mings against Club Brugge,” King said.
“To lose a game on an incident like that, Emery would have been frustrated. If everybody is fit, the starting lineup against Liverpool will not include Mings.
“He looked half a yard too slow against Club Brugge, and Liverpool won’t be any easier, not with the movement they’ve got up front. I wouldn’t start him. This is a game which he isn’t ready for.
“When you lose two games in the space of a week, your momentum gets derailed. It looks as though the confidence in the squad has dropped.
“This isn’t the sort of game you want after three consecutive defeats.”
Tyrone Mings to be left out by Unai Emery when Aston Villa travel to Liverpool?
Aston Villa face an incredibly difficult task when they take on Liverpool at Anfield.
The Reds are flying high at the moment, top of the Premier League and UEFA Champions League. In contrast, Villa have lost their last three matches, eliminated from the Carabao Cup and handed their first defeat in Europe in that time.
Therefore, the mood among both squads couldn’t be any more different. As a result, a lot of Villa supporters will likely be fearing the worst ahead of Saturday, and Emery has a lot of thinking to do.

However, football can throw up strange results sometimes, and Villa no doubt have the quality to win at Liverpool.
But if they are to have any chance of doing so, Mings must be left out.
