Jhon Duran story ‘unfair’ as Aston Villa star punished
Ty Bracey believes it is unfair for a story about Aston Villa star Jhon Duran owing approximately £15,000 for rental house damages to come out after such a positive start to the season.
A landlord for the property in Shenstone, a village near Lichfield, submitted the compensation claim after reviewing the damage caused by the Colombia international during his first season in England [Daily Mail].
The situation has since been resolved, with the 20-year-old paying for the “hefty” damages which hopefully puts the situation to bed.
Villa podcaster Bracey, who features on the Villa Social, felt it was unfair for this story to come out so long after it happened, especially after such a positive start to the season.
Speaking exclusively to Villa News, Bracey said: “I think it is a little bit unfair because that isn’t the Duran we see this season.
“He’s gotten his head down and seems to be really enjoying his football at Villa.
“He has made his mistakes in the past and he’s learnt his lessons so I’m keen for him to plod on and continue that consistent form and prove everybody wrong.
“He has shown that he wants to stay at Villa so for this story to come out based on years ago when he was unsettled isn’t great but it is a thing of the past now.“
Jhon Duran dealt punishment at Aston Villa
The striker hasn’t exactly stayed away from any controversy since joining the Villans from Chicago Fire back in 2022.
Villa supporters weren’t exactly his biggest fan in the most recent window as the Colombian looked to force a transfer away from B6 all summer.
These issues have all been forgotten after an electric start to the season which has seen him score memorable goals against Everton and Bayern Munich.

Fans will be hoping that this story doesn’t affect Duran’s form just weeks after signing a new contract at Villa Park.
