Unai Emery has easy Jacob Ramsey decision after what happened in Aston Villa loss v Tottenham
Jacob Ramsey looked to be back to his best for Aston Villa despite suffering a humbling 4-1 defeat away to Tottenham Hotspur.
The Villans came away with nothing from North London on Sunday (3 November) as a terrible second-half showing allowed the home side to capitalise.
Despite going 1-0 up through Morgan Rogers, Unai Emery’s side ultimately collapsed and got what they deserved for their performance.
With that being said, Ramsey is one star who can hold his chin up coming away from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as he looked to be back to his best.
Jacob Ramsey back to best for Aston Villa v Tottenham
The England Under-21s international has struggled for form in recent weeks and months off the back of an unsteady year or two with injury.
It appears that he has finally shaken these worries off as the 23-year-old was unplayable at times against Spurs on the left-hand side.
The academy product was taken off at 81 minutes but it made sense to conserve his energy ahead of a trip to face Club Brugge on Wednesday (6 November), and it is an easy decision for Emery to select him in that game.
With that being said, the versatile attacking midfielder made his minutes on the pitch count as he maintained an 88 per cent pass accuracy as he completed 21 on the day [FotMob].
This was a positive ratio and he kept that trend going with the ball at his feet as Ramsey completed three dribbles while not being dispossessed at any point up against Pedro Porro.
Despite looking good going forward, this didn’t stop the fan favourite from tracking back to help out Lucas Digne.
This saw him win one tackle with a 100 per cent accuracy, while also contributing one block, one clearance and three interceptions in a strong defensive showing.

His all-round performance was capped off by winning six duels, which is certainly a positive for a wide midfielder.
Although Emery will be hoping that Ramsey can add goals and assists to his game in the coming weeks, this performance in North London could act as a springboard for the rest of the season.
