Unai Emery made a match-changing error by substituting Morgan Rogers for Aston Villa in the defeat against Tottenham.
The Villans fell to a terrible 4-1 defeat at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday (3 November), conceding four goals in the second half despite going 1-0 up.
The performance after the interval was poor but Rogers still managed to show his qualities before being surprisingly substituted by Emery with just over 20 minutes to go.
This saw Micah Richards single out the 22-year-old on The Rest is Football podcast [4 November], saying: “How good is Morgan Rogers? I mean, seriously? He’s ridiculous… really excellent”

The England Under-21s international has been up there with Villa’s standout performers so far this campaign and looked positive against Spurs.
This meant it came as a surprise to supporters to see him taken off in the second half and that eventually led to his side conceding three and losing late on.
The ex-Manchester City youngster was on the scoresheet with his two shots on goal while he also registered a 79 per cent pass accuracy across 14 attempts [FotMob].
Rogers created two chances while also maintaining a 67 per cent dribble competition rate which he may have hoped for better, but was still a positive record.
The versatile forward also helped out defensively as he won five ground duels with an 86 per cent success, while also contributing with one recovery.
With all that being said, it was a mistake for him to be taken off as his ability to get on the ball, hold it and drive forward was sorely missed in the second half.
Emery, therefore, must taken a share of the blame after a rare misstep from the Villa boss.
