Son Heung-min set for late fitness test for Aston Villa v Tottenham as injury woe emerges

Dr Rajpal Brar has suggested that Son Heung-Min is a doubt for Tottenham and may require a late fitness test ahead of the clash against Aston Villa.

The Villans travel to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday 3 November as they look to bounce back to winning ways after an EFL Cup defeat against Crystal Palace.

Unai Emery’s side may have been handed a boost for the clash in North London with Brar telling Tottenham News on 31 October that the Spurs captain could miss the clash due to a thigh injury.

He said: “Based on some of the tepid language, this seems to be a Grade 2 out of 4 thigh strain.”

“Hard to say if he’s a major doubt for the weekend game but he’s certainly a doubt and he may require a late fitness test.”

Son Heung-min injury update for Tottenham ahead of Aston Villa clash

The Villans have an excellent record in North London since Emery took over with two wins from two against Spurs away from home under the Spaniard.

He will be keen to continue that positive trend at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday (3 November) after a negative result in midweek.

It didn’t appear that the EFL Cup was a priority but the performance was still poor, especially given it was a chance for fringe players to show themselves off.

This opportunity wasn’t utilised and now there is likely to be plenty of changes which will provide a boost.

The absence of Son for Ange Postecoglou’s side will also represent a boost for Villa given how prolific the South Korea international has been against them in recent years.

The 32-year-old has scored seven and assisted three in nine games against the Villans so will represent a big miss for Spurs if he fails to hit a positive fitness level in time.
