Aston Villa make major decision on Jacob Ramsey future amid Morgan Rogers update
Aston Villa have decided to offer Morgan Rogers and Jacob Ramsey new contracts after being impressed by their performances, according to TBR Football.
Rogers is tied down at the Villans until 2029, but his progress has led the club to be ready to offer the 22-year-old a ‘significant’ pay rise and extend his stay till 2030.
Ramsey’s current deal expires in 2027, and with interest from Premier League teams in the midfielder, the Lions want to secure the 23-year-old’s future by offering him a bumper new deal.
Morgan Rogers and Jacob Ramsey the future of Aston Villa
Villa are flying high at the moment, and Unai Emery has a mix of experience and youth competing with the biggest teams in the world.
Jhon Duran recently signed fresh terms at the club [BBC, 7 October], and it’s no surprise to see the board getting back to work and securing the services of two other prospects.
Rogers has become an influential player for the Lions since signing from Middlesbrough in January 2024, starting in every Premier League game for Emery.
As for Ramsey, he has been one of Villa’s best academy graduates in recent years and has quickly become a fan favourite.
The two Englishmen are excellent assets for the Lions and will arguably be part of the national team squads in the coming future, considering their talent.

It’s astute on the club’s part to tie them down to long-term deals and retain their values, and even the Villa Park faithful realise that interest from top teams in Europe could soon take the two midfielders elsewhere.
The Villans sit fourth in the league table at the moment and the game against Tottenham on 3 November will be an exciting watch, with both Rogers and Ramsey favourites to start.
In other Aston Villa news, Duran has been hit with a hefty punishment after causing damage.
