Unai Emery’s life made easier at Aston Villa amid latest Son Heung-min Tottenham update
Dan Bardell thinks that Unai Emery’s life will be made easier if Son Heung-min doesn’t feature for Tottenham against Aston Villa on Sunday 2 November.
The Villans are preparing to travel to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and have been handed a boost after Ange Postecoglou revealed the South Korea international is unlikely to feature in the clash.
The Australian told Spurs’ official website on 25 October: “Sonny’s still not right, still not feeling 100 per cent. He won’t train today, so he’s unlikely for this weekend and we’ll see after that.”
Sky Sports and talkSPORT journalist Bardell believes this will be a boost for Emery’s side at a stadium they have succeeded in, in recent seasons.
Speaking exclusively to Villa News, Bardell said: “Son is a great player and Spurs are a better team when he’s in there.
“They have had a bit of a difficult start to the season in the Premier League in terms of inconsistency. Just as they win a game and look to be on to something, they go on to lose the next one.
“It is an opportunity for Villa, they’ve won there twice under Emery already so Spurs fans won’t be relishing that one.
“It would certainly make Villa’s life easier if Son wasn’t playing.“
Aston Villa handed Son Heung-min boost ahead of Tottenham clash
The Villans are going into the clash in North London off the back of being dumped out of the EFL Cup in a frustrating 2-1 defeat against Crystal Palace on Wednesday night (30 October).
With that being said, Emery will be keen to right the wrongs of that loss against Tottenham which won’t be a difficult task after they secured a win against Manchester City.
To face Postecoglou’s side without Son will certainly be a boost given how clinical he has been in recent years against Villa, scoring seven and assisting three across nine games.

This will give Emery’s side the confidence to go to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and pick up yet another win.
