Tyrone Mings claim shared ahead of Aston Villa v Crystal Palace in ‘excellent’ news

Dan Bardell believes the EFL Cup clash against Crystal Palace represents an “excellent opportunity” for Tyrone Mings to make his Aston Villa return.

The England international has been out through injury for well over a year and there is a chance that he could make his comeback against the Eagles on Wednesday (30 October).

The Villans welcome Oliver Glasner’s side to Villa Park with a place in the quarter-finals of the cup up for grabs.

Unai Emery could still make multiple changes to his side, and Sky Sports and talkSPORT journalist Bardell is excited to see the 31-year-old return to the starting XI.

Speaking exclusively to Villa News, Bardell said: “It’s an excellent opportunity for [Boubacar] Kamara, Mings and [Emi] Buendia to get minutes.

The thing I’m most interested in is seeing Tyrone Mings on the football pitch again. I believe he will start and will be captain on the night so that will make it a brilliant occasion.

I’m really excited to see him play at Villa Park again. I think [Lamare] Bogarde could start alongside Mings with [Kosta] Nedeljkovic at right-back.

Tyrone Mings could return for Aston Villa v Crystal Palace

Emery could hand the centre-back a much-welcomed start against Crystal Palace in a decision which would certainly excite supporters.

The Englishman is a fan favourite for his impact on the Villans in their rise from the Championship to European football.

His injury has been difficult for everyone to deal with and a return in the EFL Cup from the start at Villa Park could prove to be the perfect opportunity for Mings to take another step towards getting back to his best.
