Emery to axe Jhon Duran, three changes – Aston Villa predicted XI v Bournemouth

Unai Emery could axe Jhon Duran amid three changes to his Aston Villa side for the clash against Bournemouth on Saturday 26 October.

The Villans are preparing for another clash at Villa Park with the Cherries visiting just four days after the Champions League win against Bologna (22 October).

Emery made four changes against the Serie A outfit and could look to make another three against Andoni Iraola’s side as Villa look to make it three wins from three games.

No matter how many changes are made, there are certain players who have the trust of their manager and look set to keep their place in the starting XI.

Emi Martinez is likely to start in goal with Pau Torres and Ezri Konsa set to keep their spot in the side with the latter returning to his centre back role in place of Diego Carlos.

Changes could be made at full back with Lucas Digne and Matty Cash potentially set to return to the side in the Premier League. This would be harsh on Ian Maatsen after a stellar showing against Bologna with 100 per cent tackle success and nine duels won but Emery has favoured the France international so far this season [FotMob].

The midfield four looks likely to have a similar look despite a disappointing night in the Champions League for Leon Bailey. With zero successful dribbles and zero per cent shot accuracy, he will be lucky if he keeps his place.

Ollie Watkins could return for Aston Villa against Bournemouth

John McGinn looks set to keep his place, alongside Youri Tielemans and Amadou Onana, after a terrific performance last time out with a goal, 100 per cent shot accuracy from his 36 touches on the night.

Ahead of them, Morgan Rogers could keep his place after yet another standout showing which saw him complete seven dribbles and win nine duels as the Italian outfit failed to keep him quiet.

Emery could look to make a change upfront with Watkins potentially set to return in place of Duran despite his goal in the Champions League.

The Colombia international had a 100 per cent shot accuracy while also contributing with five duels won and three defensive actions. His pass accuracy was just 57 per cent which could see his manager look to swap things around.

Watkins could return to the starting XI after he also registered a goal and 100 per cent shot accuracy in his last start against Fulham.
