Aston Villa star Ollie Watkins hailed after ‘magnificent’ thing he did v Fulham
Bryan King was blown away by Ollie Watkins’ goal as Aston Villa beat Fulham 3-1 at Craven Cottage in the Premier League on Saturday (19 October).
The ex-Villa scout believes this was a big win for Unai Emery’s side.
Watkins put Villa ahead after Morgan Rogers had cancelled out Raúl Jiménez’s opener, with an Issa Diop own goal sealing all three points.
And King – speaking exclusively to Villa News – was impressed by the manner in which Watkins took his goal.
“That Villa win was a good one because Fulham have been going quite well,” King said.
“Therefore, that was a very good three points. There aren’t many teams that go to Fulham and win 3-1. Players at Villa are starting to come into form. Watkins in particular against Fulham, what a goal he scored.
“It was a magnificent header from him.”
Ollie Watkins shines for Aston Villa v Fulham
Watkins made a slow start to the season. However, his form has picked up in recent weeks, with the striker finding the back of the net five times in his last five Premier League games.
As a result, it leaves Emery with quite a positive headache. While Watkins continues to find his feet this season, Jhon Duran has also been making quite an impact.
Therefore, Emery will need to find a way to keep both of his strikers happy, which could prove difficult.

However, no manager in world football is likely to complain about having two top goalscorers in their squad.
