Ramsey and Bailey labelled ‘disappointing’ amid ongoing Aston Villa concerns
Dan Bardell has named Jacob Ramsey and Leon Bailey as disappointments at Aston Villa after a slow start to the season for the duo.
It has been a generally positive start for the Villans which has seen them suffer just one defeat in all competitions, losing against Arsenal in a close-fought clash.
There have been many standout moments but it has to be said, there has been plenty of frustration surrounding injuries in B6 once again.
Sky Sports and talkSPORT journalist Bardell believes fitness concerns for Ramsey and Bailey have been the biggest negative for Unai Emery’s side this season.
Speaking exclusively to Villa News, Bardell said: “Villa are so good that it is hard to single out individuals.
“I wouldn’t say that there has been a bad player but the most disappointing has been that Ramsey keeps on getting injured.
“Bailey seems to be struggling for fitness, we’re yet to see the Bailey of last season. I do think it is due to injury.
“It isn’t to say that they’ve been the worst but they are the two most disappointing things at Villa so far this season.“

The Englishman has truly struggled for fitness for well over a year after suffering an injury while on international duty with England under 21s.
On the flip side of this, Bailey finally found his feet at Villa Park last season and became one of the Villans’ most important players.
It is frustrating to have both failing to hit their highest level so far this campaign and Emery will be hoping that the international break gives the pair an opportunity to return their best.
