Youri Tielemans claim shared after what expert has seen at Aston Villa
Youri Tielemans has been the best player at Aston Villa and potentially in his position in the Premier League this season, according to Dan Bardell.
The Belgium international has been an ever-present under Unai Emery this term, starting every Premier League and Champions League clash.
This has seen the 27-year-old’s stock rise among the Villa Park faithful with him stepping up to fill the void left after Douglas Luiz’s departure.
When asked who he thought was the best Villa player this season, Sky Sports and talkSPORT journalist Bardell named Tielemans without hesitation.
Speaking exclusively to Villa News, Bardell said: “Tielemans without a doubt, he’s been so so consistent.
“Criticism levelled at him at Leicester around mobility and physicality in games, those question marks have completely gone. He looks so lean, he’s an absolute warrior and leader in the midfield.
“I’d say Tielemans just out of pure consistency. I think he is operating at such a high level, he’s a brilliant footballer and someone I’ve always really liked.
“Watching him play for Villa he is so good and he is up there with Gravenberch at Liverpool to say he’s been the best central midfielder in the Premier League this season.“

The former Leicester City man joined the Villans after being relegated with the Foxes and being heavily slammed by their supporters.
It is safe to say things have gone the complete opposite way in B6 with the Belgian becoming a key player under Emery, in the rise up the Premier League to Europe’s elite competition.
His dribbling and passing has been a key element of his game with opposition midfielders struggling to get near him at times.
Alongside Amadou Onana, Villa have an excellent midfield base which has been one of the best elements of the squad this season.
It may have been a different start to the campaign if Tielemans hadn’t been in such good form.
