Aston Villa handed international break boost amid Jacob Ramsey injury concern

Dan Bardell believes Aston Villa have been handed a fitness boost by the international break after injury concerns for Jacob Ramsey and Leon Bailey.

The Villans have picked up where they left off last season on the injury front with five first-team stars ruled out against Manchester United on Sunday 6 October.

The Villa academy graduate missed out after being forced off against Bayern Munich due to injury.

Sky Sports and talkSPORT journalist Bardell is concerned for the England under 21 international while also picking out Bailey after fitness concerns in recent weeks.

Speaking exclusively to Villa News, Bardell said: “It does feel that the last 12 months the injuries have not stopped.

A few weeks of recuperation for certain players will do Villa good. I’m generally worried about Ramsey and the fact he can’t seem to get a run of games.

Bailey doesn’t look fit this season at all. They are two potentially huge players for Villa.

Jacob Ramsey could return after international break for Aston Villa

The 23-year-old has had a lot to deal with in the past year with an injury suffered on international duty ruining his campaign as Villa secured Champions League football.

There have been some shining moments since his return in the new campaign such as his goal and overall performance against Young Boys.

These occurrences have been few and far between for the academy graduate who will hope to make a consistent return to the side after the break.

He and Bailey have proved how important they are to Unai Emery and his side over the years and having them fully fit will be important to any success the Villans have this campaign.
