John McGinn has surprisingly been the worst player at Aston Villa this season
John McGinn has been the worst player at Aston Villa this season in a surprisingly poor start to the campaign.
As a whole, the Villans have had a positive start to the year on all fronts which has seen them lose just one clash in all competitions.
There has been a lot to like about Unai Emery’s side with Morgan Rogers and Jhon Duran arguably being the biggest standouts so far.
One shock has been the lack of form of McGinn who has failed to impose himself in the squad despite being as important as anyone last season.

The Scotland international has failed to grab a single goal or assist in the Premier League across five starts so far this season with his best showing coming against Young Boys in the Champions League.
Even in that clash, he failed to land a shot on target while completing just 50 per cent of his dribbles against the Swiss outfit [FotMob].
In his showing before his injury against Wolves, the skipper summed up where he has struggled to make an impact this campaign.
McGinn managed just 19 touches of the ball where he was only able to register 13 accurate passes, although an 81 per cent success rate is somewhat positive [FotMob].
The former Hibs star is famed for his industrious nature in the midfield but that wasn’t on show as he failed to win a tackle and made just three recoveries.

This carried into his duel success rate as he lost two against Villa’s Midlands rival, having a zero per cent success rate on the day.
It has been far from an ideal start to the season for the captain whose injury has compiled misery on himself and his manager.
