Amadou Onana injury update shared by expert ahead of Aston Villa clash v Fulham

Amadou Onana could be fit to feature for Aston Villa against Fulham on Saturday 19 October after the latest injury update.

The Belgium international missed his first Premier League game since signing for the Villans, failing to make the matchday squad against Manchester United on Sunday 6 October.

The former Everton man has been called up to the national side by Domenico Todesco but could miss out due to his injury concern picked up against Bayern Munich.

With an away clash at Craven Cottage coming up after the international break, injury expert Ben Dinnery has reported via Premier Injuries that the midfielder could return.

Onana was able to feature in 60 minutes in the Champions League against the Bundesliga giants but certainly made his presence felt.

The Belgian maintained a 100 per cent pass accuracy with his 15 passes as he registered 22 touches of the ball at Villa Park [FotMob].

Villa spent large spells of the European clash on the back foot which meant the ex-Lille ace had to be on top of his game and that he was.

He kept up a 100 per cent tackle success rate while also contributing massively with two clearances and four recoveries up against the likes of Jamal Musiala and Joshua Kimmich in the Bayern midfield.

Onana also won four duels with one of them being aerial, keeping up a superb 75 per cent win rate throughout his appearance.

Since joining the club, the Villans have won seven of the nine appearances the summer signing has made which just sums up his impact.

The 23-year-old is a fan favourite and an important cog in Unai Emery’s machine at B6 which is why he is much needed at Craven Cottage against Fulham in a return to Premier League action.
