Harry Kane injury news emerges ahead of Aston Villa v Bayern Munich, ‘Big boost’

Noel Egan believes question marks over Harry Kane are “a big boost” for Aston Villa ahead of their clash with Bayern Munich at Villa Park on Wednesday (2 October).

The ex-FIFA official still feels that Bayern have a lot of tools to hurt Villa in the UEFA Champions League, even without Kane.

As reported via the Standard (30 September), there are doubts over Kane’s fitness ahead of the clash between Bayern Munich and Aston Villa after he went off injured in the 1-1 draw with Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday (28 September).

However, Egan – speaking exclusively to Villa News – has named another Bayern star who could hurt Unai Emery’s side.

“Yes, it is a big boost that there are question marks over Kane,” Egan said.

“However, even without Kane, the likes of Michael Olise can hurt us. He seems to be on the top of his game at the moment.

“I know Munich only drew with Bayer Leverkusen. However, they completely dominated and were unlucky not to win.”

Harry Kane to miss out for Bayern Munich v Aston Villa?

Villa need every boost they can get ahead of the Bayern Munich clash, especially with an injury concern of their own.

Therefore, if Kane does miss out, that would give Emery’s side a significant advantage. However, Villa cannot rely on this.

Their 2-2 draw with Ipswich Town at Portman Road on Sunday (29 September) was far from an ideal preparation for the Champions League game on Wednesday.

And Emery will want to see more from one of his big-name stars in particular.

A win against Bayern Munich would be a real statement result. However, with or without Kane, things won’t be easy.

In other Aston Villa news, Egan was left fuming after a controversial incident in the draw with Ipswich Town.
