Ollie Watkins carrying knock ahead of Aston Villa clash v Ipswich, starting XI prediction made
Ollie Watkins should start for Aston Villa against Ipswich Town at Portman Road on Sunday despite carrying a knock, according to Ty Bracey.
The England international missed out on the squad against Wycombe Wanderers as the Villans secured a 2-1 win in the EFL Cup.
Jhon Duran started and scored at Adams Park so may be hopeful of keeping his place. However, Watkins will no doubt be keen to reclaim his role in the starting XI against the Tractor Boys.
Villa podcaster Bracey, who features on the Villa Social, believes Unai Emery should bring Watkins back in and utilise the 20-year-old off the bench.
Speaking exclusively to Villa News, Bracey said: “He’s been carrying a knock so resting against Wycombe would have been good for him.
“Duran has been featuring heavily off the bench and that’s where all the eyes have been on him when he’s coming on to deliver that magic.
“I would say that Watkins goes straight back into that 11 ahead of Duran against Ipswich.“

The Englishman has certainly found his shooting boots in recent boots which has seen him bring his goal total up to three in the Premier League.
Emery has consistently shown faith in the former Brentford man who was up there with one of the best players in the division last campaign.
It just so happens that his main competition Duran has hit the ground running this season and has taken up a key role off the bench to somewhat outshine his teammate.

Despite the Colombia international’s frequent winning impact, it feels likely that Watkins will retake his place in the starting XI against Ipswich.
