Aston Villa star injury worse than what Emi Buendia and Boubacar Kamara had
Ty Bracey believes Aston Villa will take their time bringing Tyrone Mings back from injury after he missed out against Wycombe Wanderers.
There was hope that the England international could have made his return from injury against the Chairboys but the clash appears to have come too soon.
Without the 31-year-old, the Villans still secured a win as Emi Buendia and Jhon Duran scored to earn a place in the EFL Cup fourth round.
Villa podcaster Bracey, who features on the Villa Social, wanted Mings to feature against the League One side but thinks Villa have to ease him back slowly.
Speaking exclusively to Villa News, Bracey said: “I assume that Mings’ injury was worse than Buendia’s and Kamara’s because his return has seen the longest period away.
“You can’t just bring someone back if they aren’t ready, whether that be mentally, physically or whatever, it is going to take some time.
“We don’t know what version of Tyrone Mings is going to come back but a footballer doesn’t just lose his ability.
“Would it have been nice to see him back against Wycombe? Yes, it would but if he’s not ready then it’s fine and we’ll get behind him when he is back.“
Tyrone Mings misses out for Aston Villa v Wycombe
It was a massive blow to Emery and his side when the former Bournemouth man went down and stayed down against Newcastle United at the start of last season.
Things on the pitch have gone well while the centre back has been missing but supporters are still very keen to see him return.
There has been very little footage of Mings since his injury which makes it difficult to put much of a time scale on his return.
There was real hope that supporters would see him in some capacity in the squad against Wycombe but it wasn’t to be.

Given the criticism that the likes of Sil Swinkels and Lamare Bogarde have come under after the game, the Englishman’s experience could have proved very useful.
