Lamare Bogarde to improve for Aston Villa despite ‘rocky’ showing v Wycombe
Ty Bracey believes Lamare Bogarde will come good at Aston Villa despite struggling against Wycombe Wanderers.
The Villans have made it through to the fourth round of the EFL Cup thanks to a hard-fought 2-1 win against the Chairboys on Tuesday (24 September).
Unai Emery made the most of the clash against the League One side to rotate his backline which had an average age of 20 from the start.
Villa podcaster Bracey, who features on the Villa Social, has picked out Bogarde after facing some negativity from supporters, suggesting that this performance will improve him in the future.
Speaking exclusively to Villa News, Bracey said: “Bogarde did have a few rocky moments but he’s young and it’s one of those things.
“With a player who is young, you are going to see these mistakes and before you mature and become older these things are going to happen.
“These conversations shouldn’t be had as if they define them, it absolutely shouldn’t. There’s a long way to go in his career.
“I’m sure he’ll come out of the Wycombe game wiser and keen to impress even more and cut out any mistakes.
“I have no doubt that he will come good and have a good career ahead.“
Lamare Bogarde backed for Aston Villa success after Wycombe showing
The 20-year-old certainly struggled at times at Adams Park alongside Sil Swinkels who has also come under fire since the full time whistle.
There has been particular criticism levelled at the Ductchman given he has started in the Premier League and Champions League already this season.
It has to be said that he started as a centre back against the Chairboys despite lining up as a right back in other competitions this campaign.
This could have had an effect on his form as he looked to acclimatise to a new position while starting against the League One side.

The Villans secured a place in the fourth round of the EFL Cup so his showing wasn’t detrimental but there is room to improve.
