Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers ready for England call-up after Unai Emery admission
Ty Bracey believes Aston Villa Morgan Rogers will receive a senior England call-up after his form under Unai Emery.
The 22-year-old starred for the Three Lions’ Under 21 side and scored a brace against Austria in a statement showing.
This came just two weeks after the Villa boss said that the ex-Middlesbrough man “is ready” to join up with the senior national side [The Athletic].
Villa podcaster Bracey, who features on the Villa Social, thinks if Rogers can keep up his early season form, Lee Carsley will introduce him into his squad.
Speaking exclusively to Villa News, Bracey said: “He is knocking on the door, that’s for sure. There is a lot of competition in the senior team for those positions so it’s never going to be easy.
“It’s going to come to a point, like Unai Emery said, that he’s going to be above Under 21 level and ready for first international football.
“The only way that he is going to get that opportunity is by putting the performances in and I think he will.
“He’s excelling under Emery and showing what a great player he is. I think it is just a matter of time. If he keeps his performance levels up then the call will come.“
Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers ready for England senior call up
It is unlikely that any Villa supporter saw the former Manchester City youngster becoming a regular starter and deserving of an international call.
His rise since a move from the Riverside Stadium has been great to see and represents a real coup from Emery who picked him out personally.
Rogers has exceptional ball-carrying ability and showed for England U21s that he has an eye for goal and the ability to take penalties.
His performance against Arsenal was eye-catching and made plenty of people sit up and take notice.

There should be no doubt in Carsley’s mind that the Villa man should be among his squad for upcoming international breaks.
