Aston Villa vs Everton prediction made amid ‘disaster’ verdict in Amadou Onana reunion
Dan Bardell believes Aston Villa will beat Everton if they score an early goal at Villa Park on Saturday (14 September).
The Villans will be keen to keep up their positive start to the season as they welcome the Toffees to B6, two weeks after their win over Leicester City.
The clash against Sean Dyche’s side will represent Amadou Onana’s first against his former club after leaving for £50million in the summer [Sky Sports].
Sky Sports and talkSPORT journalist Bardell has outlined various storylines in the game and has predicted how the Villans can win.
Speaking exclusively to Villa News, Bardell said: “It’s a good chance for Villa to cement a positive start to the season, if they can make it three wins out of four, that’s a very effective start.
“We know what happened to Everton was a disaster so the international break probably came at a good time for them.
“If Villa get an early goal they’ll win that game. Villa are a bogey side for them and I think it’s a good return match from the break. I fully expect Villa to get three points.
“There are a few storylines in there with Onana and Barkley for Villa and Iroegbunam and Gueye for Everton.
“They are going to be low on confidence, there’s a feel-good around Villa so I make them the favourites.“
Aston Villa star Amadou Onana to face former club Everton
Unai Emery will want to secure a first home win of the season after losing against Arsenal last time out in frustrating circumstances.
The perfect opportunity to do so has arrived with Sean Dyche’s side in a negative run of form after losing all of their opening Premier League games.
They will be keen to right the wrongs of their last game against Bournemouth where they threw away a 2-0 lead in record quick time.
This won’t be easy for the Toffees away at Villa Park, especially with Onana looking to land a glove on his former side for the first time.

The Belgium international has had a stellar start to the season and will be keen to maintain that form at Villa Park.
