Jhon Duran calls emerge ahead of Aston Villa showdown v Everton
Ty Bracey doesn’t believe Jhon Duran will start for Aston Villa against Everton despite calls for him to replace Ollie Watkins.
The 20-year-old has started the season in electric form with two goals in his opening three appearances.
Despite this, he has still played as a deputy to the England international who is yet to score while missing multiple clear-cut chances.
The podcaster, who features on the Villa Social, doesn’t see the Colombian international displacing Watkins for the Everton clash on 14 September.
Speaking exclusively to Villa News, Bracey said: “I don’t think there’ll be many, if any, changes from Leicester.
“There are calls for Jhon Duran to start but I don’t think that will happen and Watkins will be the starter but we will see what Emery chooses.
“I don’t think there will be much difference other than if Bailey is out injured.“
Jhon Duran could start for Aston Villa v Everton
The former Chicago Fire starlet scored his first Premier League goal against the Toffees and could now be in line to start against them a year later.
Duran has been superb to begin the campaign after a turbulent summer transfer window which saw him consistently linked with a move away.
It felt as if supporters had reached their breaking point when the striker appeared to hold up a West Ham gesture on a live stream but that appears to be forgotten now.
Goals against the Hammers and Leicester have gone someway to changing negative views which have switched towards Watkins.

The Englishman has had a tough start to the season and could potentially benefit from a week off starting to allow his teammate that role.
