Aston Villa start mooted for Jaden Philogene v Everton amid Leon Bailey development
Ty Bracey has suggested that Jaden Philogene could start for Aston Villa instead of Leon Bailey after he went off injured against Leicester City.
Unai Emery suggested that the 27-year-old had a hamstring injury but on the day (31 August) was unsure about the severity [Birmingham Live].
There has been no update Jamaican since he limped off after 16 minutes at the King Power which could hand a squad player a chance in the starting XI against the Toffees.
Villa podcaster, who features on the Villa Social, Bracey can see Philogene coming in from the start but understands there are other squad options available.
Speaking exclusively to Villa News, Bracey said: “There’s options, if we need to change shape because he’s not happy with the replacement options for Bailey.
“We haven’t necessarily got to play in the same shape but Philogene might come in, that wouldn’t surprise me.
“There’s also Ramsey, Buendia is coming back slowly. It is one of those things where we have the attacking options available to pick from.
“Bailey is massively important to the starting 11 but if he’s not match fit there are options so I’m not too worried.“
Jaden Philogene could get Aston Villa start after Leon Bailey injury
The England Under 21 international missed out on the latest international break due to injury which could be the perfect chance to get a Villa Park start.
Although it would have been positive to impress for the Three Lions like Morgan Rogers managed to, making a proper recovery is more important.
Philogene could have a huge task ahead of him to replace the former Bayer Leverkusen man in the starting 11 against Everton.
The Jamaica international is an integral part of Emery’s side on the right which will make it interesting to see how the former Hull City star can perform.

Fans will be excited to potentially see the summer signing get his first start of the season but will certainly be disappointed to be without Bailey.
