Aston Villa attacker Jaden Philogene injury update shared ahead of Everton clash

Aston Villa summer signing Jaden Philogene is likely to be back in action after the international break, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert claims that it appears the 22-year-old is progressing well with regards to recovering from the knock he said.

Philogene was unavailable for the 2-1 win against Leicester City on 31 August but is expected to be back in contention against Everton on 14 September.

Speaking about his setback, Dr Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientisttold Villa News:

Philogene felt a kick in training and that stopped him from featuring in the build-up to the weekend game.

With knocks, the main thing tends to be pain level and loss of function.

Sounds like he is progressing and should be able to play following the international break if that pain level is within reasonable limits.

Jaden Philogene’s return would undoubtedly benefit Aston Villa

The 22-year-old is capable of wreaking havoc on the right as well as the left wing and would undoubtedly offer Unai Emery’s side something unique.

He showed last season at Hull City that he’s capable of game-changing displays and doing that for Villa is going to be a different ball game altogether.

Hopefully, he can hit the ground running at Villa Park and offer a decent option in depth with Emery likely to rotate given the club’s Champions League commitments.
