Aston Villa defender Matty Cash injury update shared by Doctor

Aston Villa defender Matty Cash will not be in full first-team training for another two weeks due to his hamstring injury, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert claims that it’s a Grade 3 setback for the Poland international and he may be back in partial training after the international break.

The 27-year-old started the 2-1 win against West Ham on 17 August and played 16 minutes in the 2-0 defeat against Arsenal a week later.

Speaking about his setback, Dr Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientisttold Villa News:

This sounds like a Grade 3 out of 4 hamstring injury.

If the expected return timeline of 29 September holds, would expect him to return to partial training following the break and then full team training the following week.

“Always have to be careful and methodical with hamstring injuries due to the high risk of re-injury.

Matty Cash being injured is a blow for Aston Villa

The 27-year-old offers Unai Emery’s side a lot going forward and often acts as an extra winger for the Villans.

His absence has seen the Spaniard go for different options and he’s likely to revert to Cash in the eleven once he’s fit again.
