Aston Villa star Emi Martinez was in top form as he kept a clean sheet for Argentina to secure a 3-0 win against Chile on Friday 6 September.

La Albiceleste have maintained their top spot in the CONMEBOL group after continuing their World Cup qualification campaign with another win.

Three points were earned as Alexis Mac Allister, Julian Alvarez and Paulo Dybala all netted to confirm an easy victory in Buenos Aires.

Aston Villa star Martinez was at his characteristic best making multiple top saves and playing out from the back in excellent fashion.

Dibu was in top form once again which saw Goal.com rate the Villa star an 8/10 for his performance.

They said: “Made an outstanding save in the first half, and was a rock when called upon in the late stages. Another top display.”

His first-half save kept his side on level terms which allowed them to go on and take the lead just three minutes into the second half.

This was the only save that the 32-year-old was forced into, giving him a 100 per cent success rate [FotMob], but had to be on top of his game nonetheless.

Martinez was characteristically active with the ball in the air which saw him complete one high claim and six recoveries throughout the 90 minutes.

What will have pleased Emery the most was the shot stopper’s success in playing out from the back as he made 21 successful passes with an 84 per cent accuracy.
