Kane Taylor first-team claim emerges as he leaves Manchester City for Aston Villa

Aston Villa will assess Kane Taylor diligently to gauge his first-team readiness as he joined from Manchester City, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert claims that the club will gradually then introduce him into the senior training setup to see if he can cope with the added physical demands.

Villa announced on 20 August that the 19-year-old returned to the club after leaving for Manchester City, a Champions League regular, in 2019.

Speaking about the summer signing, Dr Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, told Villa News: “Taylor is only 19 and the positive is that he played regular reserve football last season without injury.

Villa will need to understand where he is physically and mentally and then use that as the baseline for his fitness and readiness to play.

They’ll assess him diligently behind the scenes and then see how he fares in first-team training.

His readiness for first-team football will depend on how his fitness adapts and how he’s doing in training and youth games as well.

Kane Taylor could be a future first-team player for Aston Villa

As per Give Me Sport’s Ben Jacobs, the midfielder moved to Villa Park for a fee understood to be in the region of £750k.

The club will hope that he does well with the youth sides and can be ready to make the step up to the senior setup.

Taylor is highly-rated and still a teenager so under the right guidance he can be moulded into a player who could break into the first team in a few years.

In other Aston Villa news, a first-team player is likely to miss at least three weeks of training due to an injury.
