Aston Villa figure Chris Heck lambasted over disgusting Champions League announcement
Dan Bardell has been left outraged by the ticket prices Aston Villa will charge for Champions League matches in the league phase.
The Villans announced their pricing structure for their home matches in Europe’s elite competition on 4 September which has been widely criticised by fans and media outlets.
Season ticket holders will have to pay up to £316 for the four fixtures, with tickets priced at £79 per game in Zone One and Two at Villa Park.
Sky Sports and talkSPORT journalist Bardell has been left angered by the decision and has placed the blame at the door of Villa’s president of business operations Chris Heck.
Speaking exclusively to Villa News, Bardell said: “It just smacks of people who’ve got no understanding of the fan base and got no understanding of the area at all. So I was absolutely disgusted by it.
“Unfortunately, I’m not massively surprised by these things anymore because I think over the last 18 months, Aston Villa as a football club has got an awful lot wrong and since he’s come into the role, I can only really level that at Chris Heck.“
Chris Heck blamed for Aston Villa Champions League prices
There is no doubt that the prices that Villa have adopted for the upcoming matches in the league phase are way too high and exploit die-hard fans.
The majority of season ticket holders at Villa Park will have had their seats through some really tough times.
With relegation and mid-table Championship finishes in the not-so-distant past, charging nearly £1 per minute to some supporters in the Champions League is obscene.
There doesn’t appear to be any consideration for any supporters, with money being the prime factor in any decision-making made by the club right now.
The club have used PSR trouble as a smokescreen to try and fleece fans but they aren’t stupid and have seen right through it.

Despite all the criticism aimed their way, Villa appear to be sticking by their guns and draining as much cash from matchgoers as possible. Whoever is responsible must simply hang their head in shame.
