Aston Villa and Chelsea to agree last-gasp Nicolas Jackson and Jhon Duran transfer swap

Bryan King has backed Aston Villa and Chelsea to agree on a player-swap deal involving Nicolas Jackson and Jhon Duran.

The ex-Villa scout could see a transfer deal involving the pair of strikers being worked out before the window shuts on Friday (30 August).

As reported by Give Me Sport (27 August), Chelsea could yet look to lure Duran away from Villa Park. Meanwhile, the Villans are interested in the Blues’ Jackson (via CaughtOffside, 27 August).

And King – speaking exclusively to Villa News – has suggested some sort of deal might be worked out.

“Duran could potentially remain at Villa,” King said.

“Alternatively, if he isn’t happy at the club, and he wants to move elsewhere, I’m sure a deal could be worked out.

“I could see some sort of swap deal involving Duran and Jackson being worked out before Friday. That could certainly end up happening before the transfer window shuts.”

It is hard to say which club would get the better deal out of this transfer if it were to go ahead.

Duran, 20 is slightly younger than Jackson, 23, which could be a bonus to Chelsea if they were to sign him. However, it might be argued that Jackson has thus far displayed more potential than his Villa counterpart.

Both players have had their struggles at their respective clubs, and a fresh start could be what the two strikers need. Therefore, some sort of swap deal could prove mutually beneficial for Chelsea and Villa.

In other Aston Villa news, the club could yet seal a last-gasp transfer of one Barcelona star.
